The service

Endress+Hauser Netilion Process Water complement the Netilion One features for the specific applications of water process. Especially specific dashboards, event management and analytic tools tailored to these applications are provided.

Prerequisite

As part of a shared responsibility model, Endress+Hauser ensures that the software components of the service are maintained, updated, and operated in a secure and reliable manner. However, the proper functioning of the service also depends on the customer fulfilling certain technical and connectivity prerequisites, as outlined below.

Devices for which the service is provided need to be permanently connected to your Netilion tenant through appropriate channels, for example using an edge device, a connected device, or any appropriate means.

You acknowledge and agree that the service is provided solely over the internet and thus requires a modern, up-to-date internet connection and internet browser. You are responsible for ensuring that your browser is compatible with the latest standards and technologies used by the service. Endress+Hauser designed the service to work with most modern internet browsers, but we do not guarantee compatibility with any specific browser or version. We reserve the right to update the software which may require the user to update or change their browser. We are not responsible for any issues, technical or otherwise, that arise from the use of outdated or unsupported browsers.

Remote asset activation

In addition to the features outlined in the service definition, the service enables specifically approved users to remotely activate assets like valves or pumps connected to the customer plants. Netilion process water can only trigger asset activation through a locally installed industrial control system. The installation, setup, commissioning, programming, usage, and management of the industrial control system is solely your responsibility. Depending on the security and safety requirements of your local site, the activation of the remote asset activation feature requires you to fulfill certain technical and operational requirements, including but not limited to the following:

  • Selecting and defining specific users with appropriate knowledge and permission
  • Enabling multifactor authentication for these accounts
  • Ensuring the confidentiality and protection of the credentials of these accounts
  • Ensuring that any downstream asset is controlled by an industrial control system that meets the required safety standards of the site.
  • Ensure that user access is appropriately setup on the industrial controller.
  • Ensure that the network infrastructure of your site is up to date, sufficient and setup appropriately to guarantee the security of the industrial control systems you install on your site.
  • Validate the communication channel and decision logic between the Netilion platform and the local control system
